BEREA, Ohio — Johnny Manziel Jerseys got the starter’s reps at quarterback Wednesday in practice for the Cleveland Browns Jerseys.
After practice, Manziel met with NFL investigators looking into what happened Oct. 12 in Avon, Ohio.
Coach Mike Pettine described the interview as “imminent” at his Wednesday news conference. Sources said the interview took place late Wednesday afternoon, with a representative from the league present.
Cleveland.com reported that representative was NFL senior advisor Lisa Friel, former head of the Sex Crimes Prosecution Unit in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Friel was hired in light of the Ray Rice elevator incident. NFLPA attorney Heather McPhee was also present, the web site reported.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said Tuesday that the league has experts in domestic violence issues involved in all investigations.
Manziel got the starter’s reps as Josh McCown Jerseys rested a sore right shoulder.
Pettine said Manziel was due to get all the reps — even though there is some uncertainty, given the investigation.
“We’re just wait-and-see,” Pettine said. “The league has its protocol on how they handle these situations.”
He added the league has told the team it understands the position the Browns are in regarding a starting quarterback on Sunday.
“There’s a sense of urgency to it,” Pettine said.
The investigation could be concluded by the end of the week.
Pettine described McCown as day-to-day, but he gave every indication that McCown would start if he is even close to capable.
“He’s tough as nails and we’ll just see how the cheap nfl jerseys week goes,” Pettine said.
He added he would not “put a lot of stock” into McCown not being able to play because he missed practice.
The league is looking into what happened in Avon when Manziel’s girlfriend said he hit her while driving on a highway west of Cleveland.
